Timber!

What a close call!
Cute dad :)
The wind ripped this tree out by the roots!

Everyone in Albuquerque has been praying for rain, and answers to those prayers stormed down on Albuquerque this week! The rain was so bad that is caved in the roof of the local Big Lots, it flooded Defined Fitness and Starbucks, the water was flowing 1 foot above the curbs, there was thunder & lightning & hail, trees were ripped from the ground and street signs were blown away, our home had several roof leaks, and power went out throughout the city! Whoa baby! The arroyos here were filled to the brim and it was reported that they actually had more water in them than the Rio Grande! Ha! It's funny how storms work in Albuquerque--the mornings are quite clear and beautiful, but then the clouds begin billowing in the evening and release their terror at night. It was fun going to sleep to the sound of rain beating on our windows and thunder clamoring in the sky. Hey--maybe they'll lift the firework restrictions and we'll be able to do fireworks this Fourth of July!
