Dunlap Visit!

We've been looking forward to Noah and Laura's trip like it was Christmas morning! The Dunlaps arrived last Wednesday afternoon and stayed with us about a week. We had a wonderful, fun-filled visit - but the best part of all was just spending time together! I love that Hudson has a cousin his age and now Beau does too! I envision lots of cousin fun in the future! We got to meet Noelle for the first time and she is an absolute dream baby - so darling, sweet, peaceful, and happy! Esther was a bundle of fun as always and made me want a girl even more (if that's even possible!) Here are some of the highlights of their visit. We didn't take the camera out too often, but we did catch some cute cousin shots.

  • Wednesday: Noah and Laura arrive! We got to meet their sweet baby, see how much Esther had grown, and also meet their dog Rocky. We had dinner at home and just enjoyed catching up.
  • Thursday: We jumped on huge inflatables at Hoot's and enjoyed a yummy lunch at El Pinto. I had a blast racing down the slides with Hudson and Esther. That afternoon, the ladies (including cute Esther!) all got pedicures as an early Mother's Day present. It was fun seeing Esther pick out her color (she knew immediately: HOT PINK!) and beam with joy as the nail tech painted her cute tootsies. Then we raced down to Isotopes Stadium to watch a baseball game and pig out on stadium food out on the green. A very fun day!
  • Friday: We had to make our rounds at the Bio Park - it's a Dunlap family tradition! First we toured the gardens and ate lunch by the huge Koi pond. Then we took the train to the zoo and saw some favorites: elephants, giraffes, and the polar bear. Seb and the kids had a major grass war - they threw grass on each other, knocked Seb to the ground, and then "choked" him! It was hilarious! After the Bio Park, we headed to my parent's home for a yuuuuumy "super bowl" dinner. It's my mom's new specialty complete with home made potato chips, shredded pork, bacon, cheese ... the works! It's delicious! I think we watched Catching Fire that night.
  • Saturday: We started the morning off right with McDonald's and Rebel Donuts. Then we went to our new favorite city pool - the West Mesa Aquatic Center. We all enjoyed wading in the kiddie pool and taking a few turns down the big water slide. After swimming, we headed to Dion's for pizza, salad, and sandwiches. The daddies played a little basketball while the rest of us enjoyed the park, then we headed to the dollar movies to watch The Lego Movie.
  • Sunday: A wonderful french toast breakfast from Noah and a delicious barbecue from Seb. The kids both sang in sacrament meeting. It was a nice day! We watched The Sound of Music and relaxed at home after church.
  • Monday: We spent an hour at Gravity Park in the morning - an awesome indoor trampoline house. I'd never been there before but highly recommend it for anyone of any age. They have trampolines of all shapes and sizes where you can jump, play dodgeball, play basketball, and jump into a huge foam pit. It was SO much fun! I really enjoyed playing crack the egg with Esther and Hudson and getting stuck in the foam pit with them. Next we had lunch at Sweet Tomatoes. I always forget how much I like that place. Then we headed to the pet store and bought some goldfish for our pond. Before Noah and Laura left, Laura made us a to-die-for peanut butter chocolate cake. Thank you for visiting! We love you so much!
Silly cousins excited to go to the zoo!

They found dozens of ladybug pupas in the pansies
