Beau's such an easy, great kiddo. He excels in school, he has a huge group of awesome friends, he's athletic and enjoys both football and basketball, he has a great sense of humor, he's diligent with his chores ... even the dogs think he's fantastic and have taken to sleeping on him every night! Beau is self-motivated, he has many interests, and he is very independent. I was so worried about leaving my kids home alone all summer while I was taking classes, but Beau (without asking) stepped up and got creative in the kitchen making meals for everyone (baked potatoes, quesadillas, sandwiches, eggs), and kept himself engaged by alternating screen time with outside time. He seems to know how to balance things in his life and for that I am so grateful! I love this guy - he is the sweetest child. He gives out great hugs and is full of love!
Beau finished up elementary school this year (I can't believe it!) and has started middle school. So far, so good - I really enjoyed going to his open house, moving through his schedule, and meeting all of his teachers. It made me realize how busy his day is. He wakes up at 7:00am, showers, snarfs down breakfast, and leaves for the bus at 7:30am. Then he jumps from class to class moving all over campus: biology, study skills, band, gifted ELA, lunch, math, and social studies. Then he rides the bus home, walks home from the bus stop, gets his chores and homework done with very little time for anything else before heading to football practice each night (which is always the highlight of his day). I am so grateful for the many teachers, coaches, and friends in his life that have made such a great community where Beau has been able to thrive. Lucky, lucky boy!
