The Dunlap Daily Dish: My Sweetest Sweetheart

My love for this man of mine grows all the time. He is my rock, my joy, my peace, my fun. Even though we barely see one another, he is and always will be the center of my world. One of my favorite memories of Sebastian this year involves a Father's Day surprise the boys were planning for their dad. They have a shared love of the game Magic the Gathering. Hudson decided he wanted to build his dad an awesome deck including some really fun Princess Bride cards (Inigo Montoya being one of the central cards!). Hudson spent a lot of time making this incredible deck hand picking every card and spending his own money on it. And let me tell you - these cards are not cheap. Beau pitched in too. We bought a cool case to put the cards in. Hudson was SO excited to give it to Sebastian that he couldn't wait until Father's Day. When he presented his dad with the deck, he and Sebastian held each other and wept, their love spilling over. That was a really special visual of what we all feel for Sebastian. He is the best ever. I don't know how I lucked out with someone so wonderful.

This year, Sebastian got into a car accident and his beloved silver Subaru was totaled. Sebastian was okay, but he was devastated by the loss of his faithful old friend. I, on the other hand, was so excited that he would have to get a new car. That car was getting so scary! And as an added bonus, money from the accident would help pay for the new vehicle! Woot! Sebastian was truly sad to see his old car go. Perhaps that is why he got the same exact car, but a newer model! A silver subaru! We now call her Suby Dooby Deux! (Think Scooby Dooby Doo.)
