Woo - this has been an epic vacation post! I still haven't gotten to the pictures from our own portion of the trip when my in-laws went home. On Sunday morning, we went to Sacrament meeting at a nearby LDS church then dropped the grandparents off at the airport. We initially wanted to see the Grand Canyon on the way home but on a whim decided it would be more fun to spend another day at the beach. I looked up a hotel on Seb's phone (Crown City Inn), we made a reservation, and we headed to Coronado Island! It was so exciting! I hadn't been to Coronado Island since our honeymoon eight years ago. The boys were thrilled to drive high over the water on a big long bridge.
When we arrived our room wasn't ready yet, so we grabbed a bite to eat at a little hotdog shop. We changed our clothes in the car, then walked to Coronado Beach (that's the one with the famous hotel on it from
Some Like It Hot). The boys played in the sand, chased the ravenous seagulls, and searched for sea shells. Seb took a nice, relaxing nap. While he was asleep, a seagull flew up to him and snatched a bag of Reese's Peanut Butter Christmas Trees that was sitting by his side. The candy flew into the air and the seagulls went wild! They tore the bag apart and were swallowing the candy whole - wrappers and all! It was insane!
We returned to our hotel and were delighted by the darling little room that had a tiny kitchenette in the corner. We showered off together and made plans for dinner. There were little wagons outside for guest use, so we packed the boys into a wagon and walked to a nearby grocery store. Everyone picked a TV dinner, and we grabbed a bowl of fruit, some juice, popcorn, and toaster struedelers to share. It was a fun evening in the hotel eating dinner and watching TV. Pretty soon, though, we were all out cold! It had sure been a long week!

These were some of my favorite pics! I love the beach, and it looks like the boys really had a great time in the sand and in the water. Next time we'll go with you!
