| A great tradition - balloon card collecting! |
After years of wanting to come, Grandma and Grandpa Dunlap finally pulled the trigger and made it out for Balloon Fiesta in 2019! It was a rough year for Fiesta - the weather didn't want to cooperate, but we were still able to have lots of great balloon sightings! A highlight of their visit, for me, was a weekend getaway! Seb and I hadn't really planned anything, so we ended up sleeping in my parent's treehouse, going on a bike ride, getting donuts, getting my hair cut and hight lighted, having dinner at the Cheesecake Factory with my mom, and seeing the Judy Garland movie. So fun!
We also had a few surprises up our sleeves for the Dunlaps. We hadn't told them we were moving. When they pulled up to our home, Mama Dunlap was telling Sebastian how much she loves our home and that she hopes we never move from it before she dies. As they pulled into the driveway, there was a for sale sign! Mama Dunlap was floored when Sebastian told her not only was it for sale, but it was SOLD!
We continued the surprise by pretending we had scheduled a showing of our new house with the "realtor." I drove his parents to my parent's home and Mama Dunlap thought the street looked familiar. When we pulled into my parents' driveway, she thought it was my parent's neighbor's house and she thought we were going to be neighbors with my folks. Their jaws dropped when we told them that we were moving INTO my parent's home! Such a great surprise!
